Frances Thompson Choplin, 92, of Norlina, NC died Tuesday January 24, 2023 at the home of her son.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Thompson and Mary Ayscue Thompson.  She was the widow of Hunter Duke Choplin Sr.

Mrs. Choplin was a long-time member of Sulpher Springs Baptist Church and was a member of the Koinonia Bible Study Group.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Stephen Lee and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving is one son, Hunter Choplin (Kim); two grandchildren, Luke Choplin and Amanda Davis; three great-grandchildren, Angela Pegram, Davis Pegram and Pressley Davis and a special caregiver, Kathy Creech, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Harris, Mary Mosley and Ruth Ayscue and three brothers, Roy Thompson, Ed Thompson and Jack Thompson.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:30 –7:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Henderson.

Serving as pall bearers will be Chris Pegram, Joey Ferguson, Kevin Kinton, Hunter Powell, Donnie Allgood and Tony Davis.
