Francis Allen Keeton

Francis Allen Keeton, 91, of Stovall passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at Brantwood Nursing and Rehab.

Born in Vance County on August 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Charlie Thaxton Keeton and Emma Frances Eggleston.

Francis was a member of Marrows Chapel Church. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal as well as a Good Conduct Medal. Francis retired from Burlington Industries after more than fifty years of service. He was a Stovall Town Commissioner and worked out of his home for many years doing taxes for many people in the Stovall community.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Reverend Tom Lamm will officiate. Interment will follow at Marrows Chapel Church Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Steve Keeton, Charles Keeton and Chris Keeton; five grandchildren, Jeana Currin (Matt), Angie Sossamon (John), Cindy Taylor (Brandon), Travis Keeton and Hunter Keeton; six, great grandchildren, Dylan Ellington, Emerson Currin, Lainey Currin, Camryn Sossamon, Seth Currin and Brooklyn Taylor; four sisters, Bonnie Cottrell (Jerry), Ruby Ann Averette, Jenny Lou Elliott (Mac), Dag Bailey (Larry); four brothers, Pete Keeton (Nora), William Hunter Keeton, Ray Keeton (Ida Mae) and Al Keeton (Joyce Ann) and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cooper Keeton; one son, Ricky Keeton; one sister, Carol Luffman and three brothers, C.T. Keeton, Robin Keeton and Wayne Keeton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford and other times at the home of his son, Steve Keeton.
