George "G.W." Wyche Watts, 67, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at WakeMed Health.

Born on December 15, 1958, he was the son of the late Frank Limuel Watts and Ester Eugene Brooks.

G.W. was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church and was a former member of Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from S.T. Wooten after thirty-eight years of service.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Joe Don Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Watts Family Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Chad Wyche Watts (Kimberly) and Frankie Lee Watts (Leslie); four grandchildren, Katelyn Leigh Watts, Ethan Ayscue, Dylan Wyatt Watts and Haylee Marie "Bug" Watts; three brothers, Graham Limuel Watts, Danny Ira Watts (Ann) and Floyd Henry Watts (Denise); his significant other, Charlotta Lemley; his four legged companion, Jack and several nephews and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Brooks Watts and John Wallace Watts.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. All other times they will be at the home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Norman Elliott, Robert Elliott, Willard Puryear, Ben Bigger, Greg Watts and Zach Long.
