Harvey Raymond Harris, III, 49, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at Duke University Hospital – Cardiac Unit.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of Harvey R. Harris, Jr. (Mildred) and Linda Gupton Clark. He was from Henderson, NC but lived in Wilmington with his wife, Kristine (Kristi) and children for approximately 25 years. Harvey loved God and his family more than anything. His precious grandchildren called him "Dun-Dun" which came from a baby shark game he used to play with them in the pool. Harvey was always a perfect gentleman and taught his sons to be the same. He taught his daughter to be such a lady.

Harvey graduated from Southern Vance High School in 1992 then continued his education at Nashville TN Auto Diesel Mechanic College and then obtained an English Major from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington NC.

He is survived by his wife Kristine Gentile Harris, son Anthony Thomas Vangritis, III (Brittany), daughter Kaileigh Nichole Vangritis (Tyler Dees) and Miles Amin Harris. Parents Harvey R. Harris, Jr. (Mildred) and Linda G. Clark. Grandchildren Kristian Meeks, Rylan Vangritis and Jayde Meeks. Sisters Suzette Harris Wright (Sherman), Beverly Harris Jackson (Mickey), Cheryl Harris Hester (William), Kimberly Jenkins Thompson (Mitch), April Harris Ellington (Brian) and Bonnie Clark Gupton. Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Harvey was preceded in death by his Step-Father, Stuart Clark, Step-Sister, Marci Clark Tuck and Step-Brother, Pete Clark.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Freedom Life Church of God officiated by Harvey's Pastor, Rev. Jeff Prewer. A private graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Freedom Life Church of God. At all other times the family will receive friends at the home of his Mother at 1860 Old Epsom Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
