Helen Christine Lowry Moore
Helen Lowry Moore, 98, of Henderson, NC died Friday, August 30, 2024 at Kerr Lake Nursing Home.
Born in Vance Country, she was the daughter of the late Charles Pleasants Lowry, Sr. and Lucille Minggia Lowry. She was the widow of Lee R. Moore.
Helen was employed with M. R. Williams, Inc. for over 30 years and worked well into her 80's. She was an active member of City Road Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of a local music group known as "The Entertainers" for over 30 years providing entertainment at many of the local nursing homes.
Visitation will be held at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Memorial Services will be held at the First Methodist Church (Garnett Street) on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm by Pastor George Loveland.
Surviving are one daughter, Jacqueline Moore Goheen, and two sons, Michael L. Moore and James L. Moore (wife – Glenda C. Moore); seven grandchildren, Stephanie Vaughan, Apryl Gilmer, Toyre Moore, Joshua Schwartz, Claudia Moore, Rhodes Moore and Leah Goheen; numerous great grandchildren and a very special friend, Linda Hicks. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Moore Vaughan and all nine of her siblings.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff at The Granville House (especially Sam) who helped make Helen's stay there enjoyable.
