Hubert R Jones

Hubert Reives Jones 86, of Oxford, NC, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at his home.

Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Henry Hunt Jones and Eula Mae Newton Jones. He was the widower of Dorothy Pearl Lamm Jones.

Mr. Jones proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he was a flight engineer.

He was a member of the Plantation Pleasure Walking Horse Association of North Carolina, the Granville Ramblers Riding Club and a longtime member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church. Conducted by Rev. Robbie Wood and Rev. Stan Jenkins. A private inurnment will be held in the church cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Jones Aycock (Dale); three grandchildren, Kristen Aycock Thurnau (Stephen), Kenneth Reives Jones and Maggie Katelyn Jones (Grace); one sister, Patricia Jones Boyd (Carlton); one brother, Stephen Marshall Jones (Marie); a special friend, Jean Duncan; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Carl Jones; and two brothers, William T. Jones and Jimmy K. Jones.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given to Tabbs Creek Baptist Church, 5609 Tabbs Creek Church Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.
