Obituary

James Sidney Anderson passed away peacefully on November 6, 2026 in Henderson, North Carolina at the age of 77.

Jimmy was born on October 15,1949 to Virginia Vester and Gillis Burns Anderson in Kokomo, Indiana.

He married the love of his life Margie Lee McGhee in Raleigh, NC in June 1967, and the two were blessed to spend 59 years together.

Jimmy was interested in music from a young age, always singing and playing guitar with a band (The Unknown IV) or just on his porch with family and friends. He was also an avid photographer, taking photos for album covers and of his wife and daughters, always his favorite subjects.

Jimmy loved cars and spent his career in the automotive industry starting in 1967. He began in parts and service and finished his career in Information Technology with Southern States Automotive in Raleigh, NC.

He spent his weekends and retirement years in Clarksville, VA in the home he built with Margie. Spending time on the lake boating with family was one of his favorite activities. He also continued his passion for IT by sharing his knowledge with friends and members of his beloved Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Margie; daughters Angel Anderson Price and Kimberly Michelle Anderson; sons-in-heart Shawn Price, Con Phillips, and Jeremy Fields; grandchildren Taylor Fields, Sydney Brooke Anderson Price, and Andy Phillips; and his four great-grandchildren Aiden, Gavin, Arianna, and Grayson Fields.

Joining Jesus before him were his parents, siblings, and granddaughters Angelina and Noelani Price.

Jimmy’s Celebration of Life will be held at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Henderson, NC on Monday, November 9 at 11am.
