James K. Bass

James "Butch" Kenneth Bass, 64, of Oxford, NC passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at his home.

Born in Durham County, he was the son of Carolyn Delores Rhew Brown and the late James Linwood Bass.

Butch loved animals, especially his hunting dogs.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Living Stones Church of God. Conducted by the Rev. Milton Abbott.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Walter Brown; stepmother, Donna K. Bass; two daughters, Angel Bailey and April Dawn Stone; three grandchildren, Summer, Alexis and Wayne; two sisters, Deborah Davis and Vicki Shaw (Ken); three brothers, Marty Bass (Vicki), Jeff Bass (Angie) and Troy Bass (Connie). In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Dale Bass.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at other times they will be at the home of his mother and stepfather.

Memorial contributions may be made in Butch's name to the Granville County Animal Shelter, 515 New Commerce Dr, Oxford, NC 27565.
