James Haywood Hicks, 80, of Louisburg, N.C. passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Born in Balitmore, MD, he was the son of the late Susie Johnson Hicks.
Surviving is his wife of sixty years Kathryn Rose Jackson Hicks; two daughters, Kelly Hicks and Amy Hicks Harris (Rohn Jones); two grandchildren, Natalie Ryan Harris (Mitchell Collins) and Alex "Sandy" Khafaga (Devinee Tucker); one great-grandchild, Kaiden Khafaga; one sister, Peggy Robinson; three nieces, Tammy Edgerton (Burt), Pam Medlin (Steve), and Stephanie Call (Ronald); and one nephew, Michael Fuller (Aleda). Alongside his mother, he was preceded in death by his Sister, Catherine Watkins.
Due to the inclement weather, a funeral service will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Jonathan Owens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Khafaga, Gary Fuller, Mitchell Collins, and Rohn Jones. Earl Pittman and Tim Robinson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Church, attn. Delores Woodard, 1312 Cheeks Quarter Rd. Henderson, NC 27537.
