James F. Monteleone Jr., of Wake Forest, NC, at the age of 90 years old, passed away on the morning of February 1, 2026.

James was born on November 7, 1935, to the late James F. Monteleone Sr. and Betty Krawchison, in Oak Hill WV.

He graduated from St. Lukes High School in Whitestone NY and enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1955 and served honorably till 1959. He married Antionette Barbari in May of 1960, and they remained married until her passing in 2019. They had four children, James, Steven, Carol Ann, and David. He worked for Pan American Airways for most of his working career, starting as a vehicle maintenance person and working his way up to engine test cell operator. He was an avid Beagler and spent a lot of time teaching his kids the value of being outdoors. From camping trips to hunting and fishing on the Long Island Sound, he enjoyed being outdoors.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor, conducted by Chaplain Doug Windley.

James is survived by his four children, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; his siblings, Alfred Monteleone, Barry Read, Todd Monteleone, and Jamie Monteleone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Monteleone Tavanno.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor.
