James Edward Parrott, 87 of Pine Tree Road, Oxford, NC , died unexpectedly on Friday, December 6 after a brief illness.
A native of  Granville County , James was the son of the late Lewis Thomas Parrott and Isabel Woodlief Parrott.
James loved collecting antiques, including clocks, glassware and  watches , along  with restoring a 1922 Ford  Model T Roadster,  he often drove in parades.
James is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rebecca Howell Parrott; two daughters Sharon Parrott Kinsley (Ronald), and Donna Parrott Tant (Randy); four grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Kinsley Gibbons (Kyle), Ronald Blaine Kinsley III (Emily), James Greyson McFalls, and Lindsey McFalls Brooks;  three great-grandchildren, Hartley Sloane Kinsley, Eli Blaine Kinsley, and Kristianna G. Brooks.
Other family members include his brother, Nelson Parrott (Joyce); many nieces, nephews and close family friends who will fondly remember days in his garage working on gadgets and his car.
The family will receive visitors at the Parrott Home.
A private graveside service  will be held at Elmwood Cemetery for the family.
