The good Lord called a great man home this morning. James "Jim" Durrell Tubb, 75, of Stem passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Pettigrew Rehabilitation, after spending the day with loved ones.
Born in Wake County on March 22, 1949, he was the son of the late Kimuel Durrell Tubb and Nancy Eloise Griffin Tubb. Though he was born in Wake County, he lived and was raised in Fayetteville, NC.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Survivors include two sons, David Walker (Trina) and Steve Walker (Dabney); three grandchildren, Timothy Walker, Rebecca Walker and Michael Paul Dzurovcin; one brother, Les Tubb and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Boyd Tubb; one son, Reece Tubb and one brother, David Tubb.
We will forever be grateful for the time that we were allowed to spend together. His life was a true testimony of selflessness, love, and God's grace which he so graciously shared with everyone he knew. Although we mourn the loss and will miss him more than words could ever express, we are at peace and are comforted in knowing that he is with our beloved Heavenly Father.
