Jane Currin Englebright, 81, of Oxford passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.

Born in Granville County on October 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Embra Currin and Ida Williamson Currin.

Jane was a faithful member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Oxford with Pastor Reed Tallman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, James "Jimmy" Englebright (Angela); one daughter, Betty Englebright Vargo (Jeremy); two grandsons, Dawson Vargo and Dustin Vargo; one sister, Mary Currin Owen; one brother, Kent Currin (Ellen); a very special group of girlfriends and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus Englebright and one brother, Herbert Currin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
