Jane Hedrick Sullins of Oxford passed away peacefully (April 28, 1939-August 2, 2024).
Born in Davidson County, but a longtime Oxford resident, she was the daughter of the late H. Dermont and the late Robbie H. Hedrick. She was sister to the late Jerry Hedrick and mother of the late Jerry Walker. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Sullins Jr. and daughter Robbie W. Griffin, her grand-dogs, her caregivers and her friends.
Jane became an elementary school teacher with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools after her graduations from Oxford High School, Duke (BA) and UNC-CH (MA). She worked at Richard H. Thornton Library. She also was a wife, homemaker and mother. Her children were the greatest loves of her life.
During her life, Jane enjoyed her Oxford High School friends, reading and playing bridge later in life. She continued the philanthropic works of her parents.
Services to be at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church of Oxford on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Memorial service in the church followed by visitation in the Parrish Hall. Private interment to follow.
