Jean Coley Grissom, 87, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Granville Health System.
Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Coley and Sally Bell Cole Coley.
She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and her life's passion was caring for others.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Steve Brown. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Wayne Grissom (Kim); two grandchildren, Emily Grissom Brummitt (Walker) and Sterling Thomas Grissom; one great granddaughter, Eleanor James Brummitt; one brother, William "Bill" Macon Coley and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Wayne Grissom; one son, Barry Randall Grissom; one brother, Robert Thomas "Tom" Coley; three sisters, Evelyn Muzette Coley and twins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
