Jean Belcher Parrott, 90, of Oxford passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of James Roy Belcher and Helen Irene Jones Belcher.

Jean was a member of Delrayno Baptist Church. S he spent most of her career being the head bookkeeper for A&P. Jean loved watching basketball and playing cards with many good friends. She was known for her baking of pound cakes, cheese straws, sour dough rolls and other sweets which she shared with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford officiated by Pastor Joe Don Cooper. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Valinda Dickerson (Bruce); two grandchildren, Brian Dickerson (Cristalle) and Laura Jean Stewart (Adam); three great-grandchildren, Ryan Hinkle-Dickerson, Chase Stewart and Shepard Stewart; two brothers, James "Sonny" Belcher and Charles Belcher (Helen); two nephews, Tom Belcher and Frank Belcher; two nieces, Stacey Belcher and Christi Averette and two very special friends, Eunice May and Robert May. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sam Parrott.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home of Bruce and Valinda Dickerson.
