Jeffrey Thomas Watkins, a true gentleman of the land, passed away peacefully at his home on May 7th, 2025 at the age of 66. Jeff was a proud resident of Granville County and a pillar of the local community. Born on April 16th, 1959 in Henderson, North Carolina. Married for 45 years, Jeff was a loving husband to Cindy and a devoted father to Vincent, Jennifer, Katelyn, and Patrick. He worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture for 22 years, and was known for his hard work and deep-seated love for the family farm.

Jeff was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the quiet moments of life. He loved the farm especially since it was his granddaddy's, as he learned everything he knew about farming from him. He enjoyed his cows, bailing hay, front porch swinging, bucket sittin', and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind quiet heart, his unwavering integrity, lending hand, and his deep appreciation for the simple things in life.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Vincent, Jennifer, Katelyn, and Patrick; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Dean, Ryan, and Allie. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie and Craig, and his father Thomas.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church conducted by both Pastor Scott Downs and Rev. Gary Brummitt.  Interment will immediately follow at the church's cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services in the fellowship hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Cancer Society and/or to Peace's Chapel Church, in memory of Jeffrey Thomas Watkins.
