Jessie Smith Roberts, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
Born in Granville County on May 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joel Benjamin Smith and Josephine Wilson Smith. She was of the Christian faith.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Carolina Memorial Gardens officiated by the Reverend Johnny Yount.
Survivors include one son, John Earl Roberts; five grandchildren, James Benjamin Roberts, Jeremy Michael Roberts, Wendie Danielle Roberts, Shyanne Danielle Smith and Skylar Marie Smith; three great grandchildren, Parker Glenn Roberts, Annabell Lee Smith and Sinri Thomas Preddy; one sister, Nellie Lamm Baker and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Jo Roberts; two sons, Thomas Glenn Smith and Ricky Thomas; one sister, Clara Smith and one brother, Ad Smith.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 3, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
