Jewel Loftis Lester, 93, of Oxford passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home.

Born in Granville County on October 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Willie Haskins Loftis and Macie Lee Yancey.

She was a lifetime member of Stovall Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Stovall Baptist Church with Eddie Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow at Stovall Town Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Dale Lester (Kim); one daughter, Tracy Beal (Kenny); four grandchildren, Chris Milton (Jen), Rebecca Beal, Ashley Heintz (Matt) and Savannah Culp (Tommy); ten great grandchildren, Jake, Brantley, Brayden, Dylan, Daphne, Connor, Eleanor, Carter, Lucas and Stella; two sisters, Madelyn Wilson and Arlene Loftis; one brother, Gerald Loftis (Ann) and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years Jacob E. Lester Jr.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Stovall Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care and kindness from her caregivers shown to Jewel during her illness.
