Jewel A Lewis

Jewel Allen Lewis 98, of Henderson, NC, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at a local nursing home.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Herbert Allen and Jessie Williams Ayscue Allen. She was the widow of Edward Genatious (E.G.) Lewis.

Jewel was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Henderson and also worked at Saslow's Jewelers for over 40 years.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Henderson. Conducted by Dr. Ron Cava.

Survivors include one son, Hugh E. Lewis (Sherrie); one daughter, Dianne L. Shope (Richard); four grandchildren, Angie Williamson (Eric), Rob Lewis (Alicia), Anna Shope-Javor (Kevin) and Adam Lewis (Lauren); and seven great grandchildren, Kaylie Williamson, Laynie Williamson, Cullen Lewis, Carson Lewis, Aiden Lewis, Adelyn Lewis, and Cecelia Javor.

A special thanks to Linda Weaver who visited her every day for years. It meant so much to Jewel and the family.
