Jo Ann Travis Parrish, 71, of Henderson, NC, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at her home. Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Travis and Thelma Capps Travis. She was the widow of Jerry Rogers Parrish Sr.

Jo Ann was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to her community.

She is survived by her loving family: a daughter, Andrea P. McDaniel (Timmy); two sons, Jerry R. Parrish Jr. (Debbie) and Donnie W. Parrish (Cynthia); two sisters, Frances Buchanan (Larry) and Judy Norwood (Steve); one brother, Arthur Travis (Peggy); five grandchildren, Michelle Beckwith (David), Brandon Newhouse (Heather), Taylor Allison (Josh), Dylan McDaniel, and Hannah Parrish; and seven great grandchildren, Lillien, Eli, Maddie, Melody, Cleo, Bailee, and Jason. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Brent Michaels, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Michael Grant. Burial will follow in the Travis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Debbie and Jerry Parrish Jr.

Serving as pall bearers will be Dylan McDaniel, David Beckwith, Michelle Beckwith, Brandon Newhouse, Josh Allison, Taylor Allison, Will Thompson, Hannah Parrish, and Lillien Beckwith.
