John Davis Finch, Jr. was born on March 18, 1959. He was the son of the late John Davis Finch and Janet Crinkley Finch of Oxford. He passed away on December 21, 2025, after a brief illness.

Davis was born and raised in Oxford. He attended Blue Ridge School in St. George, VA. After graduating from Blue Ridge, he attended Campbell University. He was a lifelong member of Oxford United Methodist Church and was a faithful member of the Will Hicks Sunday School class.

Davis is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Finch Yarborough (Heath) of Raleigh, NC; one nephew, Adam H. Yarborough, Jr. (Beverly) of Boone, NC; one niece, Sarah Y. Bulluck (Will) of Wilmington, NC; three great nephews and two great nieces.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oxford United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
