Joseph W. Pilkerton

Joseph Wayne Pilkerton, 60, of Stem, NC, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his home.

Born in Prince George's County Maryland, he was the son of the late John H. Pilkerton III and Ethel O. Redman.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician on a submarine. He was a d reamer, who always had a project or two going, he loved his dogs and loved fixing up old cars, boats, etc., he was always happy and upbeat, no matter what may have been going on in his life.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor. Interment will follow at South Granville Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Cheryl Lee; a step son, Shawn Murphy; a step granddaughter, Emily Murphy; one sister, Patricia A Pilkerton Wood (Jim); four brothers, Michael Gary Pilkerton (Karen), John H. Pilkerton IV (Rose), Richard T. Pilkerton and Jay M.J. Pilkerton; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on the day of the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
