Joseph Benjamin White "Joe Ben", 88, of Oxford passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at his home.
Born in Granville County on March 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph Royal White and Ernestine Frazier White.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Reverend James Shelley and Pastor Joe Don Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stovall City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Norma Kidd White; three sons, Benjamin S. White (Nadine), Gregory D. White (Pam) and Joseph P. White; two grandsons, Daniel G. White (Scott) and David M. White (Natalie); two great grandsons, Thomas James "T.J." White and Taylor David White and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Marjorie Faucette, Julia Capps, David White and Gerald White.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.

Pallbearers for the service will be Daniel G. White, David M. White, Bill Dixon, Tim Sobolak, Wayne Hutson and Roy Winslow. Honorary pallbearers will be Kay Cutts, Ed Kay, Jimmy Carroll and Paige Bowen.
