Judith B. Cochrane

Judith Boyd Harris Cochrane of Reston, Virginia, was born on November 9, 1928 and died on March 2, 2024.

She was born in Henderson, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Lucy Graham Boyd Harris and George Archer Harris.

She graduated from the University Maryland with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in English.

She worked for many years for Schoenstedt Instrument Company as a computer programmer and technical writer. She was an avid sailor, birdwatcher, and world traveler.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Henderson conducted by the Rev. Johnny Yount.

She married Frederic Cochrane of Washington, D.C. on June 23, 1951. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Christian Cochrane, her son-in-law, Theodore David Johnson, and her son, Frederic Southworth Cochrane.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the National Audubon Society.  (audubon.org)
