Julia Stout Hunt

Julia (Judy) Stout Hunt 94, of Wilton, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Brookshire Nursing Home in Hillsborough, NC.

Born in Siler City, NC, she was the daughter of the late H. Elton Stout and Dorcas McKinne Stout. She was the widow of Robert (Bob) D. Hunt. For most of her life, home was the Wilton community in southern Granville County where she lived close to family and many, many friends.

As a young lady, Judy attended Peace College and graduated from East Carolina College in 1953 with a BS in Home Economics. Over her teaching career she taught in multiple North Carolina towns and communities including Richlands, Washington, Wilton, Creedmoor and Berea.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Banks Methodist Church (in Wilton), conducted by Rev. Ray Gooch and Rev. Anita Carnes. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving is one son, Robert David Hunt, Jr. of Hillsborough, NC and daughter-in-law Jo Hunt; three grandchildren, Chelsea Trimble (Dirk) of Mebane, NC, Julie Graff (Jake) of Charlotte, NC and Katelynne Durrant (Eric) of Hillsborough, NC; and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
