After an extended battle with cancer, Dorothy Kathleen "Kathy" Mincey Wilson, of Creedmoor passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 72.
Kathy was born in Durham County on April 22, 1951, to father Milton Parrish Mincey and mother, Virginia Irene Stevens who predeceased her.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Charlie Wilson; one son, David Lynn and his wife, Brittney Lynn; two grandchildren that she loved dearly, Ryan Lynn (soon to be married to fiancé Hannah Smith) and Justin Lynn; two sisters, JoAnn Jessup and Cindy Martin; one brother, Steven Mincey and three nephews, Heath Jessup, Travis Jessup, and Chris Thomas.
Kathy had an extremely strong faith which manifested itself in her love and strong connection with her family. She kept up closely with her two sisters, one brother, and their spouses through Friday night card games and summer beach trips back to her home of the Crystal Coast, which she adored. She showed her love to many, including her grandchildren through cooking and family meals on the weekends and she took pride in presentation, always making sure her loved ones got the best of her. Her home was a welcoming and safe space for her family and friends. Anyone that knew Kathy would tell you that she was gritty and tough just like the westerns she enjoyed watching. She had a strong love for horses, which led her to meet her husband, Charlie Wilson, who became her Gunsmoke watching partner for life.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sossamon's Funeral Home of Creedmoor at 834 N. Main Street, Creedmoor, NC 27522.
