Kathy Gorton O'Brien 57, of Oxford, NC passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of Ann Wood Cook and the late Dennis William Gorton.

Her favorite place was the beach, having cookouts and spending time with her family and friends.

Her home was always open, and you felt loved and welcome.

She loved animals and especially loved Loulou and Daisy (aka honey)

Kathy was of the Baptist faith.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Wayne O'Brien; one daughter, Catlyn Otelia O'Brien; one sister, Debra Allen (Kirk); and many nieces, nephews' cousins, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vest and Katherine Smith Trent; and her grandfather, Frank Wood.
