Ruby "Kaye" Rawles Grissom, 77, of Henderson, NC passed away Tuesday, February 28th at Avendelle Assisted Living at Southpoint, Durham, NC.

Born August 25 th , 1945 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Edward Rawles and Lula Mae Newman Rawles, and was the widow of William Arnold "Bill" Grissom, Jr.

A dedicated and dependable member of First Congregational Christian Church for most of her life. She served as Sunday School Superintendent, Secretary, and choir member.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, March 4 th 2023, at 2:00 pm at Sossaman Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson, conducted by Rev. George Williams.  Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, she leaves behind many loving and caring memories.  She is survived by a daughter, Wendy Tillotson (David) of Durham; a son, Brian Grissom (Teresa) of Newton; four grandchildren, Michael Tillotson (Marcail), Mark Tillotson (Grace), Lily Grissom, and Rachel Grissom; many loved nieces and nephews; and a cousin (like a sister) Linda Johnson (Tom).

Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by her sisters Odelle Stainback, Betty Wall, and Nancy Edmonds.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Wall, Adrian Stainback, Preston Stainback, William Edmonds, Andy Stainback, and Dokey Ashmore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Christian Church c/o Jean Sam's 1464 Plum Nutty Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org.
