Kenneth R. Rhodes Sr.

Kenneth Robert Rhodes Sr. 77, of Henderson, NC, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at his home.

Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late John Wesley Rhodes Sr. and Ina Davis Rhodes. He was the widower of Patsy Abbott Rhodes.

He was the owner/operator of Rhodes Plumbing Company.

Kenneth enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with everyone. He had several hobbies, but music and hunting were his favorite, running dogs with his Afton Hunting Club buddies or playing the keyboard with his bandmates, he was really in his element. He had a huge heart and loved helping others.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson. Conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Rhodes Hamlin (Willie), Stacy Renee' Rhodes, Amy Rhodes Boyd (Brian) and Kendra Rhodes; one stepdaughter, Destina Tingen (Rodney); three sisters, Linda Rhodes McDowell, Betty Rhodes Lewis (Wayne) and Kathy Rhodes Wade (Walter); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other extended family members. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth "Kenny" Robert Rhodes Jr., and two brothers, John Wesley (J.W.) Rhodes Jr. And James Shelton Rhodes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. At other times they will be at the home of Willie and Jennifer Hamlin.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Tingen, Randy Abbott, Jordan Collier, Kevin Wade, Cody Creech and Dylan Creech.
