Larry Dale Allen Sr., 64, of 308 Ridge Circle Road, Henderson, NC died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late David Thomas Allen and Aileen Ayscue Allen.
Mr. Allen was educated in the Vance County Schools. He had a love for music and classic cars. He retired due to declining health after twenty-one years with Laurens Glass Inc. He was a member of South Henderson Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at South Henderson Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Rodney Inscoe. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving are his daughter, Lynn A. Gill and fiance Dustin Harris of Henderson; his son, Larry Dale Allen Jr., of Henderson; his sister, Peggy A. Evans of Henderson; his brother, Tony Allen (Becky) of Henderson; his granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Gill; his grandson, Aaron James Allen; two brothers-in-law, Morris Ashworth and Presley Tuck (Deborah); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-three years, Patricia Tuck Allen; a brother, David Thomas D.T. Allen Jr.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie T. Ashworth; and a brother-in-law, Lindy Evans.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Lynn Gill, 42 Ridge Circle Road, Henderson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Allen, Keith Tuck, Blane Duncan, Tyler Duncan, Kenneth Abbott, Rev.Will Breedlove, Willie Stanton, and Ronnie Allen.
Flowers will be accepted; or memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
