Larry Spencer Bailey Sr., 70, a lifelong resident of Stovall, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Duke University Medical Center.

He was born on September 8, 1955, in Granville County to the late George Spencer Bailey and Gladys Leigh Campbell Bailey. He was a graduate of J.F. Webb High School and went on to study electronics engineering at Vance-Granville Community College. He later earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Barton College. He was a licensed electrician and worked at Bandag in Oxford for 35 years.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Dagmar Yvonne Keeton Bailey of the home; two sons, Spence Bailey and wife, Lacey, of Oxford, and Lee Bailey of Stovall; three granddaughters, Mary Bailey, Emma Bailey, and Scottlyn Bailey; one sister, Debra Turner (Terry); and one brother, Chris Bailey (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jeffrey Scott Bailey.

Visitation will be held at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford on Friday, September 4, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Marrow's Chapel Church in Bullock.
