Larry A. Wells

Larry Acey "White Elk" Wells, 74, of Henderson, NC died Saturday, July 2, 2022 at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Schuyler Acey Wells and Mary Magdalene Roberts Wells.

Larry enjoyed playing golf and was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He and his father were both native Americans.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.  Burial will follow in Shocco United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Kathleen Camille Wells and Thomas Wells; and a special friend and caretaker, Sandra Grissom.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Schuyler Thomas Wells, one sister, Barbara Sue Rivers and one brother, Gerald Lance Wells.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Doug Marshall, Michael Litwin, Josh Bentley, Earl Thomas, Buster Roberts and Dylan Johnson.  Honorary pall bearers will be J. D. Roberts, Woody Loving, Buck Rivers and Ronnie Earp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
