Loretta Roberts Strickland, 80, of Butner passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Loretta was a lifetime resident of Granville County and a retired employee of John Umstead Hospital where she worked for thirty years.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Gardens officiated by Reverend Norma Roberts.

Loretta Leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Sherry Strickland Parrott (Timothy); one grandson, Randy Parrott (Holly) and two great grandchildren, Kinsey and Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Randolph Strickland; her mother, Fannie Eakes, her father, William "Billy" Blake Roberts; a brother, Alton Ray Roberts and a special friend, Willis Abbott.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community United Methodist Church of Butner, 507 West E St., Butner, NC 27509 or to the Bright Focus Macular Degeneration Research at brightfocus.org/macular.

Honorary pallbearers will include Donald Cahoon, Billy Aiken, John Howell, J.C. Abbott, Carolyn Cheek, Jackie Newton and Shirley Oakley.
