Louise H. Johnson

Louise Faith Hockaday Johnson, 67, of Oxford, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Granville Medical Center.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Oliver Hockaday, and Lois Louise Long Hockaday. She was the widow of Donald Howard Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was the former State President of North Carolina General Federation of Women's Club. She was also a member of the Wake County Genealogical Society, and a member of Delrayno Baptist Church. She was a nurse by trade.

Surviving are one daughter, Suzie Clark (Mike); one son Jeff Elliott; several nieces and nephews; two great nieces; and one great-nephew. Alongside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Elliott; and one brother, Bruce Oliver Hockaday Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2022, from 1-2:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home; and at the home of Jeff Elliott at all other times.

A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
