Louise Blackley King 83, formerly of Franklinton, NC, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at Brookstone Terrace in Woodruff, SC.
Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late J.Y. Blackley and Hattie King Blackley. She was the widow of Curtis F. King.
Louise was a lifelong resident of Granville and Franklin Counties and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Franklinton.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Conducted by the Rev. David Averette. Interment will follow at Knott's Grove Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Cantaffa (Tom) and Alice Kowalske (Bryan); four grandchildren, Michelle Marcengill (Timothy), Michael Kowalske, Abriana Cantaffa and Zachary Cantaffa (Rachel); four great grandchildren, Camden Marcengill, Aidan Cantaffa, Aubrielle Cantaffa and Bentley Cantaffa; one brother, Billy Blackley; as well as several nephews and other extended family members. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Blackley and Grady Blackley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
