Luther Aubrey Veasey Junior, age 83, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness.
Born in Wake County on May 4, 1941, he was the son of the late Luther Aubrey Veasey and Margie Keith. He was a lifelong resident of Creedmoor.

L.A. graduated from Creedmoor High School in 1959. He enjoyed a long career as Vice President of Durham Technical Institute and retired as Major from the United States National Guard after seventeen years of service. He served and attended both Olive Grove Church and Creedmoor Baptist Church.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor. Reverend James Shelley will officiate. The family requests that all in attendance wear "Carolina Blue" to honor L.A.'s memory.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Tucker Veasey and his parents, Margie Lee Keith and Aubrey Veasey. He is survived by his children, Chris Veasey (Jennie) and Paula McKinzie (Randy); one granddaughter, Savannah McKinzie; one brother, Sam Veasey and many nieces and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at nationalmssociety.org
