Lynette H Grissom

Lynette Hughes Grissom – 55, of Henderson, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Jack Hertford Hughes Sr and Annie Rose Wilson Hughes.

Lynette was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in Emerald Isle with her beach family, she enjoyed being part of the EI Beach Patrol Ladies Chapter and was an active member of the Women of the Moose.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. Conducted by the Rev. Ricky Easter. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-four years, George Melvin Grissom Jr.; one daughter, Jackie Neal Hibbard (James); three step children, Mel Grissom III of Lexington, KY, Gina Grissom Johnson (Paul) of Newnan, GA and Gavin Grissom (Brittany) of Newnan, GA; three grandchildren, Lexi Edwards, Paisleigh Hibbard and Raegan Hibbard; one brother, Jack H. Hughes Jr (Sherry); two nieces, Hassie Ruger (Jason) and Alexandra Pailet (Dave); one nephew, Scott Hughes; three great nieces, Victoria Hughes, Shelby Ruger and Phoebe Ruger; and one great nephew, Zack Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Kirk Hughes.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. At other times they will be at the home of Jackie and James Hibbard.

Pallbearers will be Rafe Parker, Matt Pegram, Blake Wright, Jason Ruger, Jonathan Macklin and Chris Winn.
