Margaret Ann Dickerson

Margaret Ann (Key) Dickerson – 85, of Franklinton, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Key and Flora Brogden Key. She was the widow of Al Junius (Ben) Dickerson.

She was of the Baptist faith. A loved mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed. Coming from a farming background, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, reading, crossword puzzles and being a housewife. In her later years, she embraced singing as a way to make her family smile. Her beautiful blue eyes could light up a room when she sang her favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine".

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Hwy 15 South, Oxford, NC, conducted by Rev. Eric Mann.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Whitfield (Dan); one son, Walter Dickerson; two grandsons, Joseph Whitfield and Daniel Whitfield; and many extended family members. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Keith and Janie Driggs.
