Margaret Brogden Humphries, 89, of Oxford passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Carver Living Center in Durham.
Born on September 15, 1935, in Granville County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Early Brogden and Mary Cash Brogden.
Margaret was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church in Virgilina and had a passion for flowers, gardening, and camping. She loved animals and spending time at the lake, beach, and in the mountains.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Pastor Herbert Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Heath (James); four sons, Ronnie Humphries (Mary Jane), Steve Humphries, Donald Humphries (Pamela) and Michael Humphries (Amy); ten grandchildren, Jennifer Heath, Joanne Heath, James Heath (Drew), Amanda Lowery (Gerald), Stephanie Reed (Donnell), Allen Humphries, Bradley Humphries, Corey Humphries, Nickie Humphries and Courtney Barker (Justin); seventeen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Fields Humphries; two brothers, Rufus Brogden and Harold Brogden and one daughter-in-law, Joyce Humphries.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gabriel Trinidad, Caleb Baker, Austin Blume, Christian Lowrey, Jaden Reed, Corey Humphries, Nate Heath and Lakyn Drumwright.
Flowers are kindly accepted.
