Margaret F. Morton

Margaret Louise Forsythe Morton, 85, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, peacefully at her home.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late David Solomon Forsythe, and Algia Askew Forsythe.

Mrs. Morton was a very active member of Harriett Baptist Church, where she was a part of the Women's Sunday School Class. She loved her family and loved taking care of them.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-seven years, Roy Cleveland Morton; one daughter Pat Cleaton (Michael); four grandchildren, Amy Hall (Derrick), Jonathan Morton, Brooke Coghill (Greg), and Brien Cleaton; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden, Karsyn, Abby, Annabelle, Dawson, Lucas, and Jackson; two special nieces, Anne Gupton, and Sylvia Cates; and her caregivers, Pat Dixon, Holly Hazelton, and Joan Warzecha. Alongside her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brent Morton; two sisters, Estelle Kelly, and Jeanette Van Dyke; four brothers, Eugene Forsythe, Leo Forsythe, Herbert Forsythe, and Clyde Forsythe; and a special nephew whom she raised, Steve Forsythe.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Harriett Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Will Breedlove. Interment will immediately follow the service at Sunset Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Harriett Baptist Church, from 10-11:00 a.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Morton, Brien Cleaton, Greg Coghill, Derrick Hall, Josh Faucette, and Hayden Morton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harriett Baptist Church, 1354 Ruin Creek Rd., Henderson, NC 27537.
