Mari Cruz Acosta, 60, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at UNC Rex Hospital.

Mari was born in Mexico City, Mexico on May 3, 1962 to Juan Jose Fortunato Acosta and Rosalba Campos.

She enjoyed attending different churches throughout her life, loved the beach, had a passion for gardening and most importantly being a mother.

There will be no services held at this time.

Survivors include her life partner of twenty years, Gloria Ingle; two sons, Mitch James (Tiffany Shinew) and Cody James; two daughters, Alecia Henderson and Jazmine Henderson; three grandchildren, Austin James, Emerson James and Aerial Ramirez-James; her mother, Rosalba Campos Acosta; a brother, Juan Acosta; a sister, Rocio "Roxy" Sedano; a Nana to, Emmitt Tillotson, Jaklynn Tillotson, Michael Tillitson and Maxwell Tillotson; three nieces, Amber Parker, Amanda Sedano, and April Sedano; a nephew, Alex Sedano and a special friend, Cassie Taylor. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Jose Fortunato Acosta and a son, Gus James.
