Marlene Coghill Edwards, 58, of Henderson N.C. passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2026, at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of Richard Allen Coghill and the late Brenda Mae Tart Swonke.

She was a member of the Oxford Chapter Of The Eastern Star #94.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Conducted by Rev. Frank Sossamon. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

In addition to her father, survivors include her husband, Bennie Wayne Edwards; three sisters, Kristie Steiger (Rich), Melissa Pitchford (Sterling) and Jennifer Jacobs (Willy); two stepsisters, Brandi Dickerson and Sarah Tippett; two nieces, Maryanna and Morgan; and four nephews, Ryan, Hunter, Zachary and RJ. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Roger Dale Swonke, maternal grandparents, Sam and Beulah Tart; and her paternal grandparents, Allen and Gladys Coghill.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
