Marsha Gail Edgerton Garrett a disciple of Jesus Christ, left this earth for her heavenly home, having completed her sanctification and receiving her glorified new body on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She bravely fought a cancer battle for almost 4 years.
Marsha was born January 2, 1952, in Wilson, NC to surviving parents James Ray Edgerton & Evelyn Mae Walston Edgerton of Wilson. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Robert E. Garrett of Oxford, NC. Marsha was a devoted mother to her children Matthew Garrett of St. Johns, FL and daughter Amy Garrett Crow of Oxford. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou Aldridge of Kinston, NC, and brother Jay Edgerton of Hendersonville, TN.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Oxford Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Brett Pardue.
Marsha is lovingly known by "Nana" to her 6 grandchildren: Callum and Teagan Garrett of FL. Evelyn, Ethan, Robert Hann, and Ava Crow all of Oxford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marsha's academic accomplishments include C.B. Aycock High School, class of 1970. She then completed a B.A. in education from Atlantic Christian College in 1973, and a Masters of Education from North Carolina State University in 2002. Marsha was a lifelong Educator that served in the public
She was lifelong Educator dedicated to the children of North Carolina which included Pitt, Haywood, Lenoir, Vance & Granville Counties.
She was a faithful member of Oxford Baptist Church with a passion for women's & children's ministry.
