Marvin R Ramsey

Marvin Ray Ramsey 38, of Oxford, NC passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Durham County, he was the son of Ulysses Puckett Ramsey Sr and the late Bessie Rebecca Heath Ramsey.

Marvin was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and the founding member of the "Red Shed" Hunting Club. He enjoyed his job and his fellow coworkers at CertainTeed in Oxford.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Conducted by Rev. Ronnie Matthews. Interment will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Casey Cooper Ramsey; his daughter, whom he loved dearly, Carley Ramsey; three sisters, Crystal Ramsey Matthews (Ricky), Jennifer Ramsey (Donny) and Tracy Ramsey Matthews (Jon Jon); one brother, Jeff Allen Ramsey (Dede); in laws, William Jr and Lisa Cooper; one brother in law; Will Cooper (Brittany); and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ulysses "Bo Bo" Ramsey Jr; as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. At other times they will be at the home of Jon Jon and Tracy Matthews.

Pallbearers will be Devin Ramsey, David Lee Ramsey, William Keeton, Michael Causey, Ben Causey, Will Cooper and Bryson Matthews.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made in Carley Ramsey's name to Vance Charter School, 2090 Ross Mill Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
