Mary C. Caudle
Mary Colenda Caudle, 66, of Oxford, NC passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Duke University Hospital in Durham surrounded by her family.
Born in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Royal Colenda and Marion Fowler Colenda. She was the wife of Teddie Wade Caudle.
Mary was a graduate from East Carolina University and retired from the City of Oxford as the Director of Parks and Recreation. She was a very caring individual who loved spending the majority of her time with the grandkids, her sister-in-law and best friends. She loved her trips down to the beach where she would enjoy relaxing along with surf fishing when she had the opportunity. There were not many times you would pass by her house without seeing her either working in the yard, tending to the garden or enjoying their swimming pool.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Home for Children Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Daughter- Krystal Elizabeth Caudle (Felix Saez Capo), Son- Chadwick Spencer Caudle, Daughter- Autumn Marie Caudle (Robert Sawicki), Grandchildren- Maddox Gabriel Saez, Mason Gunner Saez, Marion Grace Saez, Brother- Joseph Royal Colenda Jr. (Susan), Brother- Robert Davis Colenda (Lisa), Brother- Steven Brian Colenda (Sue), along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jeffery Wayne Colenda and Chrispen Joseph Colenda.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford. All other times they will be at the home.
The family wishes for live plants to keep in honor of the passion that Mary had for her plants and garden.
