Mary S. Dickerson

Mary Stewart Dickerson, 94, of Henderson, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late John Robert Stewart Sr. and Mary Una Haley Stewart.  She was the widow of Ondie Lynwood Dickerson.

She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.  Mary was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a former Adult Bible School Teacher.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Richardson and the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Surviving are one son, Donald R. Dickerson, (Betty Ann), three daughters, Kathy West (W.A.), Nancy D. Woodlief and Becky Jo Watkins; six grandchildren, Lauren Olivia Dickerson, Matthew Stewart Dickerson, Kim West, Allen West, Kitty Watkins and Krystal Watkins, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and a very special friend Pat Pulley, along with many nieces,  nephews and extended family members.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristy West, one sister, Ruth Fowler and three brothers, Henry Stewart, Charles "Chick" Stewart and Johnny Robert Stewart Jr., and two son-in-laws, Jamie "Jimmy" Woodlief and Mike Watkins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.  All other times, they will be at her home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Johnny Stewart, Bill Stewart, Gordon Wilder, Mike Dickerson, Joey Mustian and Danny Herion.
