Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Milton Lunsford, 81, of Oxford passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at Granville Health System.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Jonah Gray Milton and Marie Elliott. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Denny Freeland. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Bowman (Paul); a daughter-in-law, Deborah Lunsford; four grandchildren, Shannon Lunsford, Randy Lunsford (Whitney), Jennifer Bowman and Brooke Klinefelter (Blake); three great grandchildren, Summer Vick, Wyatt Lunsford and Weldon Lunsford; a sister, Brenda Frazier; three brothers, Joe Milton, Donnie Milton and Wade Milton and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lunsford; one son, Glenn Lunsford and one brother, Eugene Milton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford and other times at the home.
