Mary Elizabeth Ellis Wilson, 91, of Henderson, NC, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Maria Parham Health.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Ellis and Mozelle Bennett Ellis.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of Neuse Baptist Church and attended South Henderson Pentecostal Church for most of her life.

Surviving are one son Bill Stevenson (Cindy); two granddaughters, Pamela Rose Stevenson and Sonya Coats; four step-children, John Thomas Stevenson, Dorothy Louise Hedgepeth, Deloris Wilson, and Ronald Wilson; four step-grandchildren, Mark Hedgepeth, Steve Hedgepeth, Kimberly Gupton, and Kevin Stevenson; one sister, Josephine LaMastus; one sister in law, Joyce Faye Ellis Raynor; and eleven nieces and nephews, Annette Roberson, Denice Roberson, Johnette Parker, Devon Moseley, Joy Smith, Michael Ellis, Jay Ellis, James Hunt, Angela Satterwhite, Melissa Elliott, and Devan Ellis. Alongside her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Perkins Stevenson and her second husband, Bill Wilson; one sister Louise "Christene" Ellis Hunt; two brothers, James Henry Ellis and Bobby Ray Ellis; one sister-in-law, Ellen Ellis; two brothers-in-law; Donald Hunt and Jimmy LaMastus; and one niece; Phyllis Gale Landreth.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson conducted by Rev. Frank Sossamon. Entombment will immediately follow the service at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest, NC.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. and at all other times will be at the home of Bill and Cindy Stevenson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Hunt, Michael Ellis, Robert Newton, Nicholas Roberson, Brandon Roberson, and Luke Roberson.
