Mavis Jeanette Hayes Hope, 92, of Henderson, NC passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at her home.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Thomas Hayes and Clellie Neal Hayes.
Mrs. Hope was a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Tracy Atkinson, and Tommie Leigh Ayscue; three grandchildren, BJ Ayscue (Bonnie), Jessica Allen (Ronnie), and Ellie Atkinson; four great-grandchildren Haleigh Allen, Emma Ayscue, Henry Ayscue, and Peyton Allen; two sons-in-laws, Bobby Ayscue, and Bill Atkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David Lee Hope.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sossamon Funeral Home in Henderson conducted by Pastor Michael Edmondson. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Gardens.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and for all other times at Mrs. Hope's home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Atkinson, Bobby Ayscue, B.J. Ayscue, Ronnie Allen, Junior Manning, and Big David Fairey.
